Green Constitution

Despite the fact that approximately 150 countries – including our neighboring countries Germany, Sweden and Norway – already have green constitutions, this does not include Denmark. Here at Coredesign, we would like to change that. And that is why we have already signed Denmark's Green Constitution.

Coredesign has signed - will you and your company?

In August 2021, Coredesign was invited to a lecture with Mads Nipper, CEO at Ørsted, by the Tivoli Business Club. Here, among other things, he touched on the Green Constitution - an initiative that both he and Anders Fæste, Danish country manager at Boston Consulting Groups, are behind.

It was here that we saw the importance of a Green Constitution. The Danish constitution has been amended five times since it was signed in 1849 – but not once since 1953.

Fortunately, the focus on climate and the environment has increased, and the world is facing a real climate crisis. Therefore, it is time to change our Constitution and include green constitutions. It will help make a bigger difference to our climate, as it has been proven that countries with green expectations have a 15% improvement in the environment.

For us at Coredesign, we have a strong focus on climate and the environment, and we try to do our part to secure them. We do this, among other things, by offering our customers climate-friendly alternatives if they have not chosen one themselves, as well as drawing up a Code of Conduct for our suppliers, which includes, among other things, that our suppliers must strive to contribute to the recycling of materials and products.

As our director, Pia Marie Schougaard says: "We should take deeper responsibility for the environment and the climate, and it will therefore be natural as a resource-rich nation that Denmark naturally supports Green Legislation, a constitution that our other neighboring countries are already part of. That is why we support the Green Constitution to really show a behavior that we mean it, and we make an extra effort in Denmark for the environment and the climate – a constitution that also supports the 17th World Goals.”

That is why we have already signed a Green Constitution. If you want to do the same, contact Grøn Grundlov via their website.
